It’s been 47 years since Gloria Gaynor soared to the top of the dance charts with “I Will Survive.”

The track was a commercial hit—and scored her a Grammy Award. It’s found its way on best-of lists for years and is one of Rolling Stone Magazine’s 500 greatest songs of all time. In 2016, it was added to the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress.

Now, she’s building on that legacy with a new project – her first since 2019’s Grammy-winning gospel album “Testimony.” It’s an EP called “Happy Tears” and it’s out this Friday. Gloria Gaynor joins us from her home in New Jersey to talk about it.
